Why hot-climate workwear is different
Summer temperatures in the Gulf and much of Pakistan regularly pass 45 °C. Workers outdoors and in kitchens face heat stress, and uniforms can either help or make it worse.
Fabric
- Light cotton drill for coveralls and work trousers: breathable and safe near heat.
- Light poly-cotton for general uniforms that need durability.
- Polyester mesh for hi-vis vests.
- Moisture-wicking polyester for polos and T-shirts worn outdoors.
Avoid heavy drills and fully synthetic fabrics for outdoor roles in summer.
Ventilation
- Mesh panels under arms and across the back
- Back yoke vents on shirts and coveralls
- Two-way zips on coveralls
Colour
Lighter colours reflect more heat. Where hi-vis or company colours are required, ventilation and fabric weight matter more.
Fit
Loose fits let air move. Coveralls should allow layering only where needed.
Hospitality and kitchens
For kitchens and outdoor hospitality staff, see best fabric for restaurant uniforms.
Safety first
Lighter garments must still meet site safety rules for visibility, flame resistance or chemical protection. Tell us your requirements and we suggest options that balance comfort and compliance. See coveralls and hi-vis workwear.
Frequently asked questions
Are short-sleeve coveralls safe?
It depends on the site. Long sleeves protect from sun and hazards; many sites require them. Check your site rules.
