The four stages
| Stage | What happens | Who controls the speed |
|---|---|---|
| 1. Design and quote | Mock-up, pricing, revisions | Both sides |
| 2. Sampling | Sample made and approved | Factory, then buyer |
| 3. Production | Cutting, decoration, stitching, QC | Factory |
| 4. Shipping | Courier, air or sea freight, customs | Carrier and customs |
What slows orders down
- Slow approvals of mock-ups and samples
- Late or incomplete size lists
- Design changes after sampling
- Custom-dyed fabric instead of stock colours
- Peak season, when many clubs order at once
- Customs delays at the destination
How to plan
- Write down your must-have date (season start, opening day, event).
- Work backwards: subtract shipping time, then production, then sampling, then design.
- Add a buffer for revisions and customs.
- Send your size list early.
Example: a club before the season
A club needs kits for the first match. They send their badge and colours, approve the mock-up within a couple of days, approve the sample quickly, submit the full squad list on time, and choose air courier. Every quick decision on their side shortens the overall timeline.
Our approach
We confirm the full timeline, production and shipping, in writing in every quote. See how to order.
