Sublimated vs heat-pressed numbers
| Sublimated | Heat-pressed vinyl | |
|---|---|---|
| Durability | Never peels or cracks | Can lift and crack over time |
| Feel | No feel | Plastic layer, less breathable |
| Changes | Requires a new shirt | Can be removed and replaced |
For match kits we recommend sublimated names and numbers.
Standard positions
- Back: name across the shoulders, number centred below it.
- Front: optional small number on the chest or below the badge.
- Shorts: number on the front left leg.
- Sleeve: occasionally used in youth and five-a-side kits.
Fonts that read well
Choose a bold, simple font with clear digits. Avoid thin or highly decorative styles; 1 and 7, or 6 and 8, must not be confused from a distance. Add an outline in a contrast colour if the number sits on a busy pattern.
Sending your squad list
Send a spreadsheet with:
| Name on shirt | Number | Shirt size | Shorts size |
|---|---|---|---|
| Example: RAHMAN | 10 | M | M |
Checklist:
- Spell names exactly as they should appear, including capitals.
- Use each number once.
- Mark goalkeepers clearly.
- Add spares without names.
We print a proof of every name and number for your approval before production. Start with a quote.
Frequently asked questions
Can we use our own font?
Yes, if you send the font file or examples. Otherwise we suggest clear, bold fonts that read well on the pitch.
What if a player's number changes?
Sublimated numbers cannot be changed on an existing shirt. We make a replacement shirt with the new number from your design on file.
